Get Festive with Snacks that bring Holiday Cheer!
‘Tis the season to bring holiday joy to your family and guests! It’s also that time of year to make all your favorite snacks that make your get-togethers even more special.
You may have made your list and checked it twice, but there’s always room for more choices. Check out some of our recipe suggestions that will make the upcoming holiday shine!
1. Apple Wreath
The first option on the list is a simpler entrée you can create this winter season and its easily one of the more distinguishable holiday items! The Apple Wreath recipe, provided by Pretty Providence, keeps the prep time to a minimum while bringing joy to your guests with each bite!
After you’ve used NatureSeal solutions on the fresh cut apple slices and arranged them in a wreath pattern on a plate, sprinkle strawberries, peanut butter chips, and white chocolate chips over the fresh slices. You can then tie twizzlers over the top of the wreath as an added decoration while drizzling caramel on the slices. It’s good-to-go as soon as you are done!
The spirit of the season can be found in many different places, but nothing quite gets you in the mood for carols and sleighrides like these festive treats. The Celery Reindeer recipe published by the fantastic Wondermom Wannabe is the perfect complement to any holiday main course!
Place your fresh cut celery sticks that you kept looking fresh with the NatureSeal Fresh-Cut Produce Extender, and spread peanut butter and Nutella® in the center ridge of the stalk. You will then break pretzels twists in half, placing them on the top of the celery as antlers. To complete the look, you’ll just add candy eyes and a cranberry nose. It’s as simple as that!
3. Egg Snowman
It’s time to bring a winter wonderland from the cold to your holiday snack tray! Aileen Cooks posted an excellent Egg Snowman recipe that has all the hallmarks for a memorable, festive snack for years to come!
First, you slice the bottom and top off one hardboiled egg, while only slicing the bottom of another hardboiled egg that will act as the top part of the snowman. Use two round carrot slices, one a little large in diameter, and kept looking fresh with NatureSeal.
You will stack the two eggs and carrot pieces on top of each with a toothpick to hold them in place, adding peppercorns for facial features. As added features, you can tie green onion around the egg as a scarf and sprig of rosemary for arms. Repeated as many times until you have a whole gang of fantastical snacks!
One of the more traditional recipes on this list, the Endive Pear and Walnut Appetizer outlined by Good Life Eats will still be a crowd-pleaser for all ages.
To get the dish ready, you will separate the endive leaves, and rinse them. Use NatureSeal Fresh-Cut Solutions on a pear slice and place it in the endive leaf and add a sprinkling of both walnuts and cranberries. Finally, you can drizzle a bit of blue cheese salad dressing or keep some for separate dipping. In just a few short steps, you are ready to serve!
Even with all the tried-and-true recipes that you have lined up for your holiday meals, it’s always nice to spice things up a bit. The Pita Tree Appetizer listed on Betty Crocker combines tasty guacamole onto tree-shaped pitas, leaving your guests to rock around these Christmas trees ‘til they’re all gone!
To keep your guacamole looking vibrant green for longer, you will use NatureSeal for Guacamole and Avocados. Cut each pita fold into eight wedges, placing pretzel stick half into center of bottom of each wedge to form "tree trunk."
You will then take a small bowl and mix sour cream, guacamole, parsley and garlic-pepper blend. Spread about one teaspoon sour cream mixture on each pita wedge. Finally, sprinkle about 1/4 teaspoon bell pepper on each wedge or arrange to form a garland. Enjoy!
These are just a few options you have this holiday season, but they do make for a great start! Whether you keep it simple this year or try something magnificent, we at NatureSeal hope you have a healthy, happy holiday!
