How to Add Fruit to School Lunches
Ready to send the kids back to school yet? We think your sanity level says YES. Make sure that your kids are continuing to eat healthy even when you’re not there to help them. Here are some simple ways to easily include fresh fruit to your school lunches.
Apples
One of the biggest issues you’ll have with apple slices is that they brown before lunchtime. Use NatureSeal Produce Extender Packets to help inhibit browning to keep even the pickiest of eaters pleased. Less browning apple slices means less wasted produce. That’s a win-win in our book.

Clementines
All you need is a bag of clementines, sharpie, and a little bit of imagination for this lunch hack by Fountain Avenue Kitchen. Just draw a face or design on the skin of each clementine, and each day can be a little surprise for the kids when they open their lunchbox.
Bananas
Traditional peanut butter and banana sandwiches are yummy, but how fun will the kids find these banana sushi rolls from The Many Little Joys? Using the regular three standard ingredients, these little banana bites can use whole wheat or traditional tortilla wraps depending on just how picky they are.
Strawberries & Blueberries
Sandwiches every day can be boring, but who doesn’t love tacos? Not your standard Taco Tuesday meal, but these fruit taco sandwiches from Homemade Interest are an easy way to keep things fun and still give the kids fresh fruit. Top each “taco” with sliced strawberries and blueberries to make them extra fancy!
