Meatless Meals

Whether you’re going meatless on Fridays for Lent or full vegetarian, people have come up with a variety of vegetarian friendly options that will leave your carnivore cravings satisfied.

Don’t let the idea of going meatless be intimidating. There’s a reason nutritionists tell you to load up on the fruits and veggies-so what’s the hold up? Sometimes we get so used to one way of living that change can cement us into potentially bad habits. Rather than relying on meat as a staple of each meal, give your body a break with some plant-based options.

Tips To Make Meatless Easier:

  • Start Meatless Mondays. If you’re not participating in Lent or even just want to add on another day, there’s a strong #MeatlessMonday community support out there to hold you accountable.
  • Try meat replacement options like tofu and soy- don’t forget beans! These swaps are meant to be easy. Have you checked out the vegetarian/vegan section of your local grocery store?
  • Look for vegetarian versions of popular dishes. We’re thinking veggie pizza and pasta with pesto sauce sound pretty good!
  • Meal prep vegetarian options ahead of time. If you eliminate the time crunch, you’ll be able to easily commit even during your busy schedule.

Making It A Whole Day:

Breakfast

Apple Cinnamon Quinoa Breakfast Bowl by Maria Ushakova

Yogurt Buddah Bowls are the easiest way to throw together breakfast in the morning. We’re also a big fan of overnight oats, but you know just how much (or little) time you have to get out that door!

Lunch

Black Bean and Avocado Wraps by Gimme Delicious Food

Avocado wraps are the new burritos- well, we’re a fan of the trend. Think of your favorite Mexican toppings and have at it!

Snack

Keep things simple with some precut apple slices and peanut butter. By cutting the apples up ahead of time, you won’t have to worry about heading to the vending machine for an afternoon snack. Place the slices in NatureSeal to prevent premature browning for up to 14 days!

Dinner

Quinoa Black Bean Veggie Burgers by Peas and Crayons

Tip for making these even better? Top it off with some guacamole!
